Question
Correct alignment of both ailerons
I'm curious as to how exactly use those two arrows on the sides of the fuselage in order to align/adjust the ailerons correctly. Do I put the upper edge of both ailerons to the tip of those arrows or do I put the downside edge of both ailerons to the tip of the arrows? Or has the tip of the arrow point at the middle of the aileron-edge?

Question
Would this plane be practical with a gopro camera?
I really like this plane for its aerobatics but was wondering if it would be a good platform for filiming with a go pro on board, for example if it was stable enough and can reach a good atltitude with a decent flight time.

I'm just guessing here, but I honestly gave it some thoughts. The GOPRO with the casing weighs around 200g, wich should definetly not be a problem for the plane. But you have to place it pretty much on the CG - so that puts your camera somewhere in that grey canopy. Depending on how much work you're willing to put into it, you could cut off the canopy and build some attachment-port. In order to minimize the drag your GOPRO will generate, you then should put a clear canopy over it. I'm sure it will fly well if it's done right, but it will cost you some performance. Not quite sure if it would still hover, but it actually should. Your vertical speed is going to be significantly less. It won't perform 3D as good as stock, but for flying around and flight-filming it probably works.

Question
Why is the Visionaire $ 100.00 more than the Carbon Z Splendor? The CZ Splendor originally was at least 50.00 more that the visionaire.
The CZ Splendor seems to be much more of a plane than the Visionaire.

Question
How much travel should there be on the elevator.
Just seems the travel is very little even when in different modes. So I just wanted to make sure it is where it should be or if I need to change it a bit. Im using a DX8 and the settings came from the downloaded file PKZ6580 by Quique Somenzini .

Question
Power : 3s 13 x6 prop or 4s with original propeller ?
I like how this plane performs , it hovers easily and its very stable at low speeds but since I live 2650 meters above sea level it feels a little underpowered using the recommended setup : 3s 2200 (25c) lipo with 12 x 4E propeller . Will the motor and speed control tolerate a 3s setup and a 13 x 8 propeller ?or a 4s 2200 with a 12 x 4E propeller ? Or in any case will I exceed amps? Thank you

You can get a prob 12x6E this will give you high torque. but you will notice that plane is shaking, so easy on throttle. I only use 3s 2250 (45C) batteries. I won't recommend 25C. my 35C give me 2 mins less than 45C flight time. If the wind is 12-16 MPH then my 45C will last 6 mins. Wind 4 to 8 Mph 45 C will last 7 to 9 mins both on 55% power level.

Question
FLIGHT ISSUES
WHEN IN THE AIR. THE PLANE FEELS LIKE SHE'S TAIL HEAVY AND PUTS HERSELF IN A 40-45 DEGREE ATTITUDE. I MUST FORCE IT DOWN WITH ELEVATOR INPUT. I'VE SPOKEN WITH THE HOBBY SHOP WHO WANTS TO ADJUST SUB-TRIM FOR THE ELEVATOR BUT THE BOOK SAYS NOT TO USE TRIMS ON THE RADIO. HAS ANYONE FOUND THIS ISSUE AND WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO CORRECT IT? I'M PRESENTLY USING A DX-7 WITH FACTORY PROGRAMMING FOR THE VISIONAIRE AND STOCK BATTERY IN THE PLANE. THANKS

Any time you think your plane is tail-heavy you should adjust the CG to correct it.
Trim for level flight at a comfortable mid-range throttle setting.
If the tail comes down when you reduce power in level flight then you are at least marginally tail-heavy.

Tail-heavy makes a plane do many "3D" maneuvers much easier, but can be very unstable for normal "at speed" flight. Learning to deal with this requires intermediate to advanced flying skills, especially dealing with stall due to loss of power.

It is almost never wrong to move the CG forward to make the aircraft perform more the way you want. You can "creep" the CG back as your skills increase.

I have had a few aircraft where the recommended CG was well outside of my comfort range even with over 45 years of model aviation experience. I have also pushed the CG WAY back from the maker's recommended location in a few cases.

Do what works best for your flying skills and flying style.

you could easily correct the trim problem with the servo . you are not supposed to digitally trim the model. but, you could trim it with the servo. all you would have to do is take screwdriver and move the servo arm to the right trim. hope this helps, Kenneth.

Mine seemed a little tail heavy until I put the supplied 3S 2200 Parkzone battery forward until the first few mm were under the front of the battery box. My forward Velcro strap is just covering the front part of the battery and the battery is just short of touching the motor.

I also have just a wee bit of down elevator trimmed in. I mean just a wee bit, barely noticeable. An additional mark is the back of the battery is even with the two rear screws for the battery box. This puts the CofG approximately 100mm (4 in) back from the leading edge on my model. I am no expert, but my plane seems to fly well with this setup.

Good luck flying :)

The servos may not have been centred properly and may need adjustment-- they would work but you might be putting extra wear on on one servo, disconnect one at a time until you find the culprit, Maybe take the prop off first!!

Download the flight profile to sd card off horizons resource center for the visionaire and load it then flip gear switch on that enables full surface throw high rates and the 3d action if no sd card n ur dx7 just assign channel gear to gear switch and when gear switch is on it will enable the high rate for 3d after the throttle is pushed up a little then let off you'll see the difference it only initialized after some throttle input try that out its a major difference once you get the 3d mode enabled its capable of some real snappy moves

I thank BISH73 for the answer and actually just accessing the gear after throttle movement did activate 3D control, but I do not think either the 9303 or the 9503 from JR have Sd cards so that part is all manual, but I did get the correct parameters written int by hand. I now have the green light and tried 3D this morning --pretty wicked.

The landing gear is spaghetti lol my LHS owner upgraded his gear using a carbon z yak 54 gear and wheels since the wires thicker u need the gear set and wheels and its tight to fit but it goes in and gives the prop a little more clearance about an inch off the ground and I showed the guys in my club the other 4 w visionaires had the same mod within two weeks and costs 8$ after 4$ gear and 4$ wheels :) do it it will never bend at all and doesn't affect flight performance as its not that much heavier and it can take some hard landings and won't bend...do it you won't regret it...especially w a hard landing on factory set you can bust a prop as I did before my upgrade now I haven't had that problem cause it doesn't flex as much but has the extra height it's perfect

Cross member would seem to me to take out the small give in the gear on landing, so just flip it out of 3D and it floats in really well, just above stall, small bit of power if needed.

Don't waste your time trying to improvise a fix for the weak gear. Buy the Carbon Z Yak 54 gear and wheels and be done with it. I did. $12 delivered from CA to VA. Every landing is not going to be a "grease it on" kind of landing no matter how good you are. The stock gear would toe out taxing in grass after doing a "sprong" landing. I have at least 200 flights on mine and I'm still in love with it! lol The gear was my only complaint. Not now! The Yak 54 gear is the only way to go.

The opening for the battery is 5 inches long, a bit more than 1.5 inches high and a bit under 2 inches wide. Weight of the battery which comes with the plane is 6.2 ounces. The only concern I would have is how you would affect the enter of gravity of the plane by the additional weight. As long as you can put it far back, it should be fine. You don't want the plane to fight against a heavy nose.

Yes,The 3200mah will work..A thing to keep in mind is the extra weight...Think of the milli-amps (mah) as the gastank of the plane. The more mah,the more gas in the tank..But the heavier the plane is going to be...So you have to find that happy medium...Hope this helps you out........Thanks

I use 2200 mAh, 3S batteries at 35C. The battery that comes with the plane is 25C. Your 2100 mAh should be ok and you should probably get around 5 minutes of flying. Because yours is only 20C, don't push throttle too hard or your battery might get too hot and puff.

Thanks everyone for your input and advise on using the 2100mah battery. I have 6 of these batteries, and wanted to make sure that I could use them. Purchased the Vision Aire on Saturday, and the plane and the 2100mah batteries work great!

Thanks again for all the input!

Question
Good 3rd plane?
I have flown the champ and the um mustang, and I want to try my hand at 3D, and at a larger plane. Are larger planes harder to fly than micros because of their speed? Is it more difficult than say the umx beast 3d?

Go for the visionaire it's got the new ar635 6 channel w 3 axis gyro stabilization system it's wicked, I'm a heli guy , I grabbed a visionaire and I'm flying crazy 3d within 5 flights it's an awesome and powerful foamie, I highly reccomend it, and I fly with a bunch of experienced plane pilots and there's 4 other guys in my club that bough visionaries lol the 3axis system makes it a dream, and in the wind too, only downside is landing gear is weak, if you get this plane order a carbon z yak 54 main gear and wheel set its 7$ total for upgrade it fits in smugly and handles some rough landings without bending..and lifts the prop up off the ground more preventing prop strikes....get it and you will love it. I guarantee it. It's an awesome 3d plane and runs of 2200 3s lipos which is a common size...go for it can't beat it for 300$ and the parts are cheap if u crash but w the 3axis it's like flying on rails...good flying :) and don't let the size scare you it handles so well, floats right on in, very good airfoil lots of lift doesn't need much speed to stay up, but if u wanna zip around the pattern it will haul :) haha

answer 2
Bigger planes are usually easier to fly. The visionare would be better than the beast.

I have the VisionAire, F4U Corsair and Extra 300, and I have them listed in order of easiest to hardest to fly in my opinion. The VisionAire is a very stable plane, but it is a bigger plane than what you have been flying. It will take off very smoothly, and respond to input control very nicely. You must use dual rates with really small displacements and expo. I would recommend 50% rate to start with. There is so much displacement that this plane will turn on a dime. You must get used to it. Fly it like your champ for a while. Practice your landings. They can be slow because the plane has such big wing surface.

If your looking to reset the ar635 to original factory settings for the receiver, not the presets for the visionaire but for the receiver itself follow the instructions here http://www.spektrumrc.com/ProdInfo/Files/SPMAR635-Manual_EN.pdf
