OK I had problems with mine installing the driver as it didn't work the way that was written in the instructions, so what I did was this.
1 Download the update software and save it to your "C" drive and not the desktop
2 Plug in the USB to your computer and let it look for the driver, it Likely will not find it.
3 It should ask you to look for the driver in a specific location and ask where to look for it, point it to the folder where you have your drive downloaded and it should be able to find it there then you are good to go.
Make sure you follow the update instructions and you should be ok

Don't worry about that, I'm guessing your motors aren't running yet, this is what it does to make sure that your sticks are in the center and all the trims are 0. Its perfectly normal and should be of no concern.

if you bought the 350 QX with version 2 firmware, the GPS unit will be mounted in the #3 motor arm (right rear) If the V2 firmware was installed on the original 350 QX you will have to check out the mode lights as the GPS may not have been moved.

The easiest way would be to bind it to a radio and check the colors of the flight modes. If you do not have a radio, you can not use it anyway. If you can not do this, there is probably a way to buy the interface cable and check it with your computer? I do not know how to do that but Horizon customer service should.

Re: Natey
I downloaded the windows driver set on 5/6/14. As of then the download zip did not contain the driver for the USB was not included. It is now and the driver is the same version I posted earlier from Future Technology Devices International Ltd. Horizon saw the ommssion and thank you to Horizon for now including this driver in the zip file.
BTW the upgrade went very smoothly and the purple LED is cool.

yes. I used the youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4ijx-UYj60. I would advise to make the throttle cut up on the right (G) like you would find in a collective pitch heli. Be sure to be familiar with your switches before your first flight so you don't inadvertently shut your 350 down while flying.

Good Luck!

The motors will not start until the rate switch is in the high position. You switch to low rates by flipping the switch you assigned for dual rates. You need to lower the low rudder dual rate setting down until it pirouettes at the speed you prefer.

That is in the programming of your TX, read up on the manual and as for the rudder rates being changed and your Quad not starting it needs to be in High rates or 100 percent on the rudder in order to start the motors.

Question
sorry stupid question, but i don't really understand rates and how they are used
are rates used to limit the power to a switch. so id i use a rate of 100 to 40 on one of my switches i can limit the throttle to max out at 40 if i flip the switch. i think this would be the same for rudder and others. am i right?

No! They are used to limit the travel and do not affect the throttle channel. If you have your rates for say the rudder channel at 100%, the craft will pirouette at full speed when the rudder stick is moved all the went to the left or the right. . If you turn the rates to 50% on the rudder, the craft will pirouette at half it's full speed at full input. Same with the aileron and elevator.

Rates are meant to be set to tame your Quad or Heli to your liking, in other words it doesn't limit the switch but actually limit the pitch or forward, side and backward angle in with it travels, also the is expo that is used to make the TX sticks less sensitive around the center position of the sticks. So if you want yo turn fast side to side you would want 100 percent rates or more as you get better, but as a beginner its best to have lower rates so you don't loose control.

No it doesn't, you'd have to add a telemetry module to it and get the appropriate sensors you wish to have. Like battery, temp, and so on. It would also have to be bound at the same time you bind your 350 to your TX.

I would say the max lift would be a gimbal and a camera and even a small battery if you need one for your gimbal, that would be about all it can lift safely without putting too much strain on the props and motors, plus the more you pack on the shorter the flight times will be.

In order to arm the motors you have to setup the sub trim for the throttle up 15-20 percent. Then you'll be able to start up the motors with the rudder left right command. Make sure all other trims and subtrims are 0. Plus you also have to switch it into High Rates to start. Then you can switch back to low rates.

It does sound like the main board, but maybe you could erase your 350QX setup in your TX, set it up again, bind it and see if that works, this way you can rule out the programing or TX, if not contact customer support.

Question
Blade 350QX Binding
First off... I love you guys! I have so many of your aircraft and you always seem to one-up yourselves and make me buy more! Now that you are all buttered up, here's the question: My Blade 350QX, I have to bind on almost every flight. Occasionally, it will bind on powerup, just like all of my Parkzone BNF planes, but most times, I have to hold the trainer button on my DX6i and cycle the power to get it to re-bind. Adds a lot of time every time I switch batteries. Can I fix this somehow? is it possibly a problem with trim out of center or something silly like that? Thanks so much for all you guys do. Awesome company!

I had the same problem (it is mentioned in the manual, but kind of hard to find). Make sure you have all trims centered to begin with. Then, when you are ready to fly, adjust the throttle trim up 2-3 clicks. You should hear a beep. Once you hear the beep, do the left-right sweep of the rudder and it should start spinning up.

I had exactly the same problem, and after talking with product support (very good), If you are using a DX6i, you will need to move the throttle trim two positions up (I don't know why) but it worked for the first try. BUT, at the second try, even with the T. trim up didn't work and then I realized that moving the D/R switches to 1 position and then back, it always works. Remember to leave the T trim 2 positions up always. Good luck!

One thing the manuel that comes with the unit doesn't tell you clearly is that all trim needs to be in neutral position and that after the status lite starts blinking you need to take your throtel trim and click increase twice and wait for the beep then take your throtel lever hold it down at lowest position and at the same time move it from right to left then your motors should start running.

I hope this helped I was having the same problem.

Im not sure if you saw this part in the manual but you must set the throttle subtim up 15-20 percent for the DX6i (which i still own), then make sure your in high rates and thats when you can do the rudder left to right to start. Also make sure all other subtrimms are 0 and all other trims are set to 0.

Hope this helps

Question
Telemetry on the new 350 QX
Will the 350 QX have room inside the body to hold a telemetry TX? Would love to have flight battery warnings, altitude, etc. . What would be the best controller for the 350 QX w/telemetry?

I installed the telemtry transmitter TM1000 with the altimeter module on my Blade 350QX using velcro for the receiver and a piece of clear packaging tape for the module and receiver attenna. I used a short servo lead to connect the receiver through the landing skid port and plugged it into one of the the gimbal axis connections. I then binded the two together and now I have an altitiude reading of my quad copter on my transmitter. I will attempt to mount the telemtry transmitter inside the nose of the 350QX and add a battery voltage and temperature sensors.
